Uganda, Malachi Project, June 2027

CCV will travel to Uganda to serve alongside a ministry that is transforming the local community by rising up and mentoring local orphan's, including holistic farming and enterprise.  Our team will visit, work alongside them, and catch the vision for more development that's underway.

What will we be doing? This trip is designed to allow us the privilege of witnessing the work and serving alongside the Malachi Project. We'll spend days with the local men and women who are working hard to transform their community with holistic orphan care. A specific itinerary will be determined in the few weeks before the trip. Who can go? The age limit is 11+ with a parent and 18+ if not traveling with a parent.  Participants should be in good physical condition and experienced travelers.

Where do we stay? We will stay in a local hotel near Kampala, Uganda.

Requirements

1. Passport cannot expire prior to January 1, 2028.
2. Yellow Fever vaccination- required to enter Uganda and apply for visa
3. Visa to Uganda- help will be provided to submit correctly
4. Attend all pre-trip meetings-  TBD
5. Complete background check for anyone 18 years and older
6. Attend CCV Starting Point class (if you haven't been already)

FLIGHTS/Travel info: We will require a color photocopy of your valid passport. According to Federal Government regulations, your passport must not expire within 6 months of your return date and must be valid through January 1, 2028. If you need to apply for a passport for the first time or to renew your current passport, please visit travel.state.gov for applications and processing. Passports need to be uploaded as soon as possible to purchase international flights and to submit for the Uganda visa.  

Do I need to get any shots? Where can I get shots?

Please visit cdc.gov/travel for up-to-date vaccination requirements for your destination. Yellow Fever vaccination is required for entry to Uganda and proof of vaccination must be presented for your visa and upon arrival into Uganda. Zika virus is also present in Uganda. Currently Passport Health is the only clinic in Phoenix that offers the Yellow Fever vaccine.  

Do I need a Visa? How do I get it?

A visa is required to enter Uganda. You will need to apply for a Ugandan Visa 2 weeks prior to travel.  Visa requires payment of $50. We have taken $50 off the cost of the trip so that you can pay it directly. 

What’s the cost? The cost for the trip is $3500.00  

    This includes international group airfare, lodging, in-country transportation, and meals. This also covers emergency medical insurance for trip participants while in country.
If a cancellation is made after airline tickets have been purchased, you will be responsible for the cost of the ticket.

    Does not include Passport fees, luggage fees, visa application fee, and vaccinations (Yellow Fever vaccination is required to enter Uganda). Meals on travel days and any other personal spending money you'll want. 

Deposit: $350 is non-refundable and due at the time of registration. If a cancellation is made after airline tickets have been purchased, you will be responsible for the cost of the ticket. 

Full payment is due 2 weeks prior to departure.

FUNDRAISING:

We absolutely encourage fundraising. Very few people pay for the trip on their own. Number 1 way is to send support letters- a personal URL will be provided to your personal fundraising page. Tell your friends and family about the trip, share with them the ministry, and ask them to donate. The number 2 way is to put in some hard work and, do garage sales and car washes, get together with other team members to make a bigger impact. You will talk about this when you get together as a team.
