Colombia, April 2026

CCV will send a team of active Compassion International child sponsors to Barranquilla, Colombia to visit their sponsored child. 

As a Child sponsor, the child you sponsor will be BROUGHT TO VISIT YOU. It doesn't matter where they are in Colombia; the Compassion team will arrange their travel. 

The team will have the opportunity to visit the community, do home visits, attend classes and church with the kids in the community and do children's activities with the whole group. 

As an active child sponsor, you will have the privilege of spending a full day with the child you sponsor in Colombia.

This is a great Colombia trip option for:

• Active child sponsors who sponsor a kid in Colombia through Compassion International. 
• Anyone who wants to visit the church plant that CCV helped plant in Barranquilla, Colombia. 
• Ideal if the child you sponsor lives in North Central Colombia, nearest to Barranquilla. This just makes it easiest for the child to travel to see you. 
• Ideal if the child you sponsor is from the community of Palmar de Verela, Barranquilla, Colombia and Child Development Center CO0821.

  • The best way to find this information is to view your sponsorship information on

  • Once you’ve logged in using your information and your sponsor number, located underneath your child's picture, you will see the location- This is the city your child lives in!  You can search for it on Google Maps and see what area of Colombia they are in!
  • Also under your child's picture is your child’s unique identification number.  It indicates which Compassion Center/Church the child is affiliated with. The numbers below are the first 4 numbers after CO in their identification number.

Wed., Apr 15th -International flight to Barranquilla from Phoenix

Thurs., Apr 16th -travel to CO0821, Palmar de Verela, Barranquilla, welcome/tour, visit classes, lunch, home visits

Fri., Apr 17th -VBS or something similar

Sat., Apr 18th - fun day with sponsored kids, souvenir shopping

Sun., Apr 19th - Church in the morning, lunch, sightseeing (experiencing culture)

Mon., Apr 20th-International flight home to Phoenix

What is the cost? $2900.00

    Includes: Airfare, Hotel, and Transportation, Emergency in-country Health Insurance, Meals in country, visit with sponsor child, 

    Not included: Passport Fee, Luggage Fees, Meals on Travel Days
    *All payments/donations made are tax-deductible but are NOT refundable*
    If a cancellation is made after airline tickets have been purchased, you will be responsible for the cost of the ticket.
The final balance is due two weeks prior to travel.

• Compassion International also has a registration, waiver, and background check process that you will need to complete, which is due by their deadline.
• Passport must be valid and in hand by December 1, 2025. Cannot expire before November 1, 2026. 
• Complete CCV background check.
• Attend CCV's Starting Point class (if you haven't already been)
• Attend all pre-trip preparation meetings. TBD by your trip leader.
