CCV has a great opportunity to travel to the south of Africa to a work we helped begin in Bulembu, Swaziland in 2006. This is a nation ravaged by HIV/AIDS, with very low economy, that is benefiting greatly from enterprise and economy boosting business and HIV/AIDS awareness and treatment through organizations like Bulembu Ministries
Our team will visit and work alongside Challenge Ministries and catch the vision for the ongoing development.
Trip Dates: November 4 - 15, 2027
Trip Leader: TBD
Registration Deadline: September 1, 2027
What will we be doing?
This trip is designed to allow us the privilege of witnessing the work and serving alongside Challenge Ministries- rural church plants throughout Eswatini's kingdom and Bulembu ministries in the child/orphan care, Christian academy, and clinic. We'll spend days with the local men and women who are working hard to transform their community. The specific work projects and itinerary will be determined in the few weeks before the trip. Flexibility is key!
Who can go?
Age limit is 13 years old with a parent. If traveling alone, a participant must be 18 years old or older. A background check is required for all participants 18 years and older.
Participants should be in good physical condition as there will be an active itinerary and lots of walking.
Where do we stay?
We will stay in a local lodge or hotel, where they will prepare meals for us.
What’s the cost?
The cost for the trip is $3500.00
This includes: Round-trip International group airfare Phoenix to Johannesburg, South Africa, lodging (double occupancy), transportation, meals, emergency medical insurance, and project supplies.
If a cancellation is made after airline tickets have been purchased, you will be responsible for the cost of the ticket.
Does not include: Passport fees, luggage fees, and any elected vaccinations. You'll also need to pay for meals on travel days and any other personal spending money you'll want.
$350 deposit is non-refundable at the time of registration.
Full payment is due October 21, 2027.
Vaccinations:
See cdc.gov/travel for country specific recommendations and requirements.
PASSPORT:
You will need a valid passport for travel. Passport cannot expire within 6 months of the trip's return date. (June 1, 2028)
No visa is required for travel to Eswatini; however, many blank pages in your passport will be required for travel through Johannesburg, South Africa.
FUNDRAISING:
We absolutely encourage fundraising. Very few people pay for the trip on their own. Number 1 way is to send support letters. Tell your friends and family about the trip, share with them the ministry, and ask them to donate. Number 2 way is to put in some hard work and do garage sales and car washes, get together with other team members to make a bigger impact. You will talk about this when you get together as a team.
