Finding God’s Presence in Cuba

The weeks leading up to my trip to Cuba were challenging. I faced spiritual warfare like never before in my family, my business, and my relationships. Several family members and friends sent me screenshots and articles about the conditions in Cuba. It seemed like every time I looked at the news, fear tried to creep in.

Still, I had peace knowing that God would be with us, that He would protect us, and He was present in Cuba the entire time.
As soon as we arrived, we jumped right in and got to work. We prepped VBS supplies and curriculum, but we knew flexibility was key. Sure enough, during our VBS sessions the days were busy, plans often shifted, and we had to adjust on the fly to keep the kids engaged. I was so proud of our team for how well they adapted… always keeping the children as our focus and making sure sharing Jesus remained our top priority.

What made the trip especially meaningful was how, each day when we returned to our villa community, the kids and parents began to recognize us. They would come over to talk, continuing conversations from the day before. Hearing their stories and spending time with them brought healing to parts of my heart I didn’t even realize needed it. God is so good, and I can’t wait to go back next year.
