This year’s Back to School event with Help Now Arizona was such a meaningful experience! I was paired with the wonderful Linda from Calvary Church, and together we helped kids choose from hundreds of books (originally neatly stacked and separated across tables and tables) from adventure novels to puppy picture books and few sports books that paired well with children who lit up when they saw them.
One fun moment I’ll hold onto: I randomly picked up a graphic novel about Minecraft and told Linda, “Let’s save this one in case we get a video game fan who doesn’t love reading.” Less than 30 seconds later, a young boy wearing a green Minecraft shirt came right up to the table. It was the perfect match and such a sweet reminder that God sees the small things too.
We also helped a boy who was excited to find books about puppies and guided a young girl to chapter books she hadn’t read yet. Watching their curiosity turn into joy was the highlight of the day.
We gave away over 20 boxes of books and delivered the remaining 8 boxes to a family shelter in Sunnyslope so even more kids could benefit.

Please pray that every child who received a book (or a dozen) will discover and maintaina lasting love for reading. May these stories spark their imagination, strengthen their confidence, and remind them that no matter what circumstances they face, learning and joy are always within reach.
